The Matriarch of the Arts is a historical figure of gravity and reverence. While others take the limelight for a while, you’re the one who slowly gathers momentum and moves into a leadership position quietly. In history, you tend to be the embodiment of culture and head great families. You’re gripped by a sense of obligation. You may be the wife of a prince, but you’re the real power behind the throne. A stunning number of historical women with your personality are restricted by feelings of guilt toward family expectations. This has caused you to hold back your full potential perhaps. You tend to defend tradition or at least feel the need to hold true to strong cultural values. The home is an important place for you and no matter how much adventure creeps into your life, you always seek the familiarity and comfort of your home.

Hera

If adventure is strong in you, then you might wear tradition as a disguise or perhaps your foray into the public sphere with be dynamic and grand, a true Matriarch of the Arts. While you may be duty-bound at home, you never lost your appreciation for the talented world of entertainment, art, and business.

You can also be sensitive and even easily offended. You do make every effort to be practical about your feelings. Most often, your strong feelings are channeled toward protecting those around you. While you have obvious and potent leadership skills, a Matriarch of the Arts sometimes takes a step back from leadership and the drama comes with it. This withdrawal is done by choice, not out of weakness. In a sense, you’re willing to sacrifice the top position because you simply value people and tradition slightly more than success or dramatic change, and you never try to hide that fact.

However, if or when you find yourself in a leadership position, you’re decisive and passionate about your mission. The Matriarch of the Arts has a sense of duty toward certain goals and is a powerful guiding force. You’re savagely loyal to those who rely on you. When others are threatened, it is the Matriarch who steps in time and time again to beat back the intrusive problems. You have a strong sense of justice and principles and you do live by a certain code. You act because, in the end, you must act.

Sofonisba Anguissola

Although you may prefer a quite kind of life, history does not pass by you. To the contrary, history has often honored your duty, compassion, and steadfastness. You like to know what’s going on and how things will get done. You’re not a big fan of leaving things to chance. And since you operate right out there in the open, all can see your matriarchal deeds. Others judge you all the time for how you handle your business, but they aren’t the ones that others come to looking for help. At the end of the day, you’ll see the mission through to its conclusion whether others like it or not.

Ultimately, you are reliable, and people follow your lead. History knows of your powerful role as the protector of great families, the figurehead of dynasties, and cultural defender. The Matriarch of the Arts is a robust woman of history.
