ESTP – The Tactical Maverick

In fiction, what do ESTP characters all have in common?

Nonconformity. Daring. Improvisation.

Your heroic personality is a fan favorite because you’re just built for heroic action. Your bold actions may seem haphazard or even reckless, but there’s a lot of method in your madness. Even though you are winging it, you have the uncanny ability to get it right, seemingly without a plan. You maneuver by trusting your instincts and constantly stay ahead of your opponents. Your enemies may plot and act against you, but at the end of the day, you’re the one still on top. And it drives them mad.

You’re outgoing, charming, likable, and carry plenty of charisma. Your style is captivating but not always pretentious. You piss people off with your bold words and a dismissive attitude. You don’t fit into structured organizations well either. You tend to go your own way and rely on your own judgment rather than some standard operating procedure. Although you’re not an idea person who gets hung up on abstractions or outright creative thinking, your personality achieves an unexpected form of unorthodox innovation. Your playful nature and quickness to action, when combined with you material knowledge and straight logic combine to produce an unexpected form of improvisation. You land on original solutions without all the touchy-feely creative process.

Unafraid of big decisions, you proceed from a position of certainty. You’re wiling to take chances, and your enemies know not to underestimate you. They already know you’re up to something. Quite frankly, you don’t have the patience of some, you’re well-known for rushing into a situation. You trust yourself and prefer to think on your feet. You like to initiate action and force others to react to you, leaving you in control. You’re a bit of a show off too and like attention. In truth, your particular means of attention-seeking and blunt-speaking introduce a kind of endearing childishness to your style. But hey, at least you’re honest. You’re technically sound and highly proficient in your skill sets. You make a perfect, wild card commander on the battlefield. You often prefer to commit to massively original tactics and have the sound mind and practical abilities to pull it off. You’re gutsy and like to operate with dangerous theatrics. Fun and fatalism are your drink of choice. And we love you for it.

When Tactical Mavericks Become Villains

Tactical Mavericks are unpredictable and stunning successful. When they tread down the dark path, the ESTP villain can be especially ruthless. In all cases, the Tactical Maverick is fully aware of their villainous status and stand by it. They sense danger and are better at setting a trap more so than walking into one. A Tactical Maverick villain takes it personal when others oppose them, so their responses tend to be swift, aggressive, and viscous. They always seem to be one step ahead are known for their expert take downs. Their extroverted nature also inclines the ESTP to publicize their conflicts. They want the world to know about their battle, but even more urgently, they want the audience to see their inevitable victory. If the forces of good are going to beat a villainous tactical maverick, they need to do so at a disadvantage. Conflict is the Tactical Maverick’s home turf. Only better tactics will outmaneuver them. Only a better trap will catch them. Only more committed attack will overpower them.

Frequency
