Master of the Labyrinth

The heroine is finally recognized for her heoric actions. The oppressive power of the labyrinth is destroyed and the native culture is saved. While she has already atoned with herself, the heroine receives validation from her native culture that now accepts her depature from social norms and/or gender roles. She has made it possible for others to follow the example she set.

The heroine usually receives a second validation from the person she saved during her clash with the minotaur. In the Ancient Greek mythology, although Theseus gets credit fro slaying the minotaur, but we must never forget that it was Ariadne who solved the labyrinth. A heroine is invaluable to her native culture and in no way secondary to the hero on the journey.

Thus ends the heroine’s journey through the labyrinth.
