The Call to Adventure

A person or event enters the heroine’s life and invites her to leave the captivity of home and enter the exotic labyrinth. In the hero’s journey, this critical step signifies the hero’s departure from his native culture into an exotic “otherworld.” However, in the labyrinth model, the heroine gains an opportunity to secretly breaks the culture truce, which she does.

Unlike the hero’s journey, I’ve noticed that many heroines don’t always exhibit a “Refusal of the Call,” which is to show a sudden fear of leaving home. Many heroines are eager to leave home.
